I just got to know that Dutches celebrate their National Tulip Day [Nationale Tulpendag] every third Saturday in January. This day marks the beginning of spring, which means that you can find tulips in any store in the Netherlands.

What I like the most about this day is its free gifts for citizens. At the Dam Square, there is more than 200,000 tulips placed every year for publics to bring home. They are allowed to choose and pick their own tulips and turn them into a bouquet of flowers.

Some workers are there to help them pick their flowers. From what I have read on most of the websites, their workers wear orange-layered coat which I think quite famous for Dutch. FYI, the orange color is well-known to celebrate their Queen, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix.

Flower Show 2013

Assalamualaikum..

A quick update on Keukenhof Spring Show! hehee

It has been almost 3 weeks that this garden is opened for public.

However, the outside garden is not fully bloomed yet because winter has just ended some time ago.

So, I guess these bulbs still need time to grow and bloom into beautiful flowers! :D

So, here are some pictures (courtesy from the Internet) for Keukenhof flowering status :)

The public also have come to enjoy indoor flower show! If I'm not mistaken, there are three main pavillions exhibiting various kinds of flowers. They are Beatrix Pavillion (celebrating the Queen's name), Oranje Nassou Pavillion and Williem-Alexander Pavillion. Each of these pavillions has different flower show for different date. So, if you are planning to see some indoor tulips, you should check the dates and save the days! :)
